Symptoms of common psychiatric disorders such as major depressive disorder (MDD) and attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) are hypothetically mediated by the malfunction of different neurocircuits. When these malfunctions are incompletely addressed by pharmacotherapy, residual symptoms may persist.
