Sir: Given its high prevalence and cost to society, generalizedanxiety disorder (GAD) is a mental health problem thatmerits investigation of etiology, treatment, and prevention. Weconducted a pilot study to investigate the efficacy of a preventativepsychoeducational workshop for GAD with college studentsat risk for developing the disorder.

Method. A prevention workshop for GAD was developedbased on empirically supported cognitive-behavioral treatmentsfor GAD, and it was examined in college students who werescreened using the Penn State Worry Questionnaire (PSWQ).' ‹
