Sir: My colleagues and I have been interested in QTc interval prolongation, torsade de pointes, and antipsychotic drugs for some time.^1-9 The article by Mackin and Young¹⁰ in the November 2005 issue of the Journal has sufficient limitations both in its own right and as a model for a larger study to stimulate the following comments:

• In the Introduction, Mackin and Young assert a need to examine "the relationship between QTc interval, antipsychotic use, and metabolic dysfunction."^10(p1387)
