Article Abstract

Obesity and mental disorders are major public health problems that co-occur to a significant degree. Theyalso significantly overlap in phenomenology and response to medications. However, many psychotropicagents have adverse effects on appetite, binge eating, and weight. In this review, we aim to improve understandingof the relationship between obesity and mental illness and provide practical clinical guidelines forthe management of obesity associated with mental disorders.
