Selective sereotonin reuptake inhibitiors (SSRIs) have been available for lamost a decade, and in that period they have had a tremendous impact on pharmacotherapy. Anumber of SSRIs currently are available in the UnitedStates, including fluoxetine, paroxetine, and sertraline, andnew ones, such as citalopram, soon will be added to theclinician’s armamentarium.
