Sir: Several non-antiarrhythmic drugs, including antipsychoticagents, have been shown to prolong cardiac repolarization,predisposing to torsades de pointes ventricular tachycardiaand sudden cardiac death.¹ However, it is known that severalrisk factors may prolong QT interval, even in patients with anapparently normal baseline electrocardiogram (ECG).² Psychoactivepolytherapy has to be included in these risk factorsdue to pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic interactions.³
